Welcome Facebook members! Glad you found us o.k. This is your starting point for how to organise a great value, high impact Registry Office wedding in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Edinburgh is one of the world's great cities. Small and compact, it has a wonderful set of quality historical sites and is a great starting point for touring Scotland.

Edinburgh's World Heritage status was not granted without cause. The castle alone has its origins more than 1000 years ago and throughout history, Edinburgh has played a central role in the history of Britain and Europe.

This history is reflected in the city's architecture which combined with the powerful geography of "Auld Reekie" as the city is known affectionately to Scots, give it a grand and natural elegance that few other modern cities could ever hope to match.

So if you are coming to Edinburgh to get married, the high point will be your ceremony in the grand Lothian Chambers Registry Office on the corner of the Royal Mile and George IVth Bridge.

Rich in history and very grand, the Chambers may be Britain's most beautiful civic venue. The Chambers are sumptuously appointed with a grand staircase, marble floors and columns. The walls are clad with extensive wood panelling of the highest quality.

The chambers main room, the Edinburgh Suite, looks out on to the entrance of St. Giles Cathedral an ideal space for photographs and the location of the famous Heart of Midlothian.
